The Burro Star: You may wonder why I named this blog The Burro Star. Close family members will get the connections but I will explain for others. I didn't want to name this Villanueva Family History because we are also Flores, Gonzalez, Vera, Iribarren, Martinez, Sanchez, and so much more!

30 years ago I took Yolanda, our sons Daniel and Troy, my mother-in-law Blanche, sister-In-law Mary and niece Christina to Mexico. Not to the exotic vacation spots, but to the interior. Surprisingly close to where our families resided over a century ago. On that trip I bought a memento, a ceramic Burro for dispensing Tequila. That Burro has appeared at many Family events over the years! It has become our family mascot.

 

The Star is reference to a nearly annual holiday news letter (Villanueva Star) we have shared for nearly 30 years. Also a nod to the Kansas City Star. The local newspaper that captured so much of our family history. Like the Burro, both have become family traditions I decided to dedicate this family history to.
